Causes for Calf Cramps

We can not determine exactly what causes leg/calf cramps, but we can do a few things to avoid getting them.

What you must avoid:

  • Muscle fatigue
  • Heavy exercising
  • Dehydration
  • High weight (not necessarily obesity)
  • Electrolyte imbalances
  • Medications (statins, prednisone, others…)

Try to avoid those things and you will not suffer from calf cramps. Also bare in mind, that young (adolescent) people tend to get cramps more likely and also elderly (above 65+).
